California ACTRA Board Meets in Turlock, CA January 13, 2012

The California Board started off the New Year with a lot of exciting news.  The Membership has the best start since 2007!!  The Membership is over 1,000 members already.  With more Arenas’ operating at this time, this could be a record year.

The Board has been working on numbers since the November meeting.  At that meeting the Board decided to try and lower the Members number by a half number, while keeping parody within the California number system.  That resulted in a lot of changes both up and down.  The reasons the Board decided to do this at this time was because the National Finals had just ended and the annual reviews were scheduled to be done at this time.  Most Members were excited about the changes and those who weren’t as excited had been misinformed on how this monumental task was going to be attempted. For the most part the numbering committee’s have done a very good job and will continue to perfect the numbers.

The Board will decide on the details of the National Qualifying Roping in Northern California at the March meeting. With most of the details set for this years’ California Chapter Finals, the Board decided not to meet again until March 9th, 2012 at the Farmers Den in Turlock at 7:00pm
