The ACTRA National Finals Promise to be a full week of Fun and Excitement
The ACTRA National Finals has expanded to seven days this year due to it’s phenomenal growth. The Board wanted to make sure the Reno Experience was a lot of fun and not a roping marathon.
On Monday we will start off with the Open Roping. After that Tyler Magnus will hold a roping clinic with ACTRA members. This will air on a future episode of the Roping Show. The day will end with the Directors, Sponsor and Arena Operator roping. Tuesday will be the #10.5 and the Century Roping. Wednesday will be the #8.5 and the Earl Hall Scholarship roping. Thursday the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Super 7 followed by the Banquet at Circus Circus. Friday will be the #5.5 which over 1,000 teams are expected. Saturday will be the #4, the Pee Wee and Significant Other ropings. On Sunday the Finals will close with the #3 roping.
When it is all said and done, the expected pay out in cash and awards should exceed ¾ of a million dollars.
The high team call back rounds will be more exciting than ever as the National Sponsors, Wrangler, Professional’s Choice, Cactus and Fast Back Ropes have put together programs that will reward the members with over $15,000 in additional prizes! We will also introduce a new announcer for the high team runs, Jody Carper. Jody comes to ACTRA with an outstanding resume and promises to make the high team callbacks the most exciting ever. You can hear Jody on the ACTRA website by clicking the audio player on the home page.
To make things more convenient for the members, our National secretary, Shauna Fry has diligently been working on the program to allow on line entries and stall reservations by credit card.. This service will be available from October 1st to the 15th. You will know your approximate time to rope before you leave for Reno.
The Awards line up this year is fantastic. Not only will the winners of the averages in the #3,4,5.5,8.5,10.5 and Century will receive beautiful Cactus Scott Thomas Saddles, they also will be awarded a beautiful National Champion “Gold Buckle” created for ACTRA by Skyline Silversmiths. These awards will truly be treasures for the ages and are valued at over $10,000.00 per team.
The Tough Enough to Wear Pink Super 7 will feature Logan Coach 3 horse gooseneck trailers to the average winners and also National Championship Gold Buckles created by Skyline Silversmiths. The average pay out to the winners of this roping will be valued at over $65,000 in cash and awards!
We want to thank Scott Thomas of Cactus Saddlery for donating the average saddles in the Earl Hall Scholarship Roping. This roping supports our national scholarship program which assists the youth in our organization who is the future of our sport.
Day Money Roping Supplies has donated a Pink Roping Chute for the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Super 7 roping, which will be auctioned off at the Catastrophe Fund Auction
.
The Pee Wee roping will feature Cactus saddles to the 3 age groups as well as other prizes. We want to thank the Roping Show and Steer Gear for their sponsorships in making the prize line so outstanding.
If all of this isn’t enough, each contestant will receive a specially designed Professional’s Choice Trophy Jacket which can be obtained at Circus Circus .In the short go rounds awards for each non-placing team in the Century and all of the numbered ropings either receive Weaver monogrammed halters or Professional’s Choice ballistic overreach boots.
A ¾ of a million dollars pay out at the ACTRA National Finals would not be possible if not for our wonderful sponsors, devoted Arena Operators, Producers and the ACTRA General Membership.
Thanks to everyone for what they do to make ACTRA the success it is, a member owned and operated association. |
